Amanda Winstead Fine Art is pleased to present two watercolors by iconic Gulf Coast artist Walter Inglis Anderson. Recently deaccessioned from the Natchez Art Association and returned to the heirs of the original owner whom had donated them to the NAA, Toby and Tiger Lily are representative of the artist’s famed love of the natural world. Toby is a another rendition of this parakeet, a family pet, a version of which is illustrated in The Art of Walter Anderson (p. 39). Toby and Tiger Lily are bursting with color and enhanced by his characteristic stylized brushwork. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Gulf Coast, Anderson developed his unique style and vocabulary of forms. We invite your inquiry.
